"Good evening dear citizens. Since it is Guy Fawkes Day this 5th of November, I thought it was time for us to have a little chat. A chat about the essence of life in general and the essence of your country in particular.
I must say, you have not behaved very well lately. You have not behaved well at all. You citizens seem to have forgotten your own identity and soul. You have distorted the very foundations that once made your country the greatest on Earth. It seems to me, like you have lost your memory. All the ideals and ideas that you once fought for are now slipping out of your hands. Thus, this chat shall serve as a little reminder to you what you once were -- and what you now have become.
Liberty was the origin of which you once were so proud of being a part. Has not something gone wrong since then, dear people? Has not something turned rotten in the country of liberty? Your government has started to commit murder on the same liberty that it once held more precious than anything else.
And do not say you are not responsible for all this! It was you who elected these leaders of all political stripes! It was you who stood by as they perverted the beauty of the land of the free into fear of the same beauty! You did it to obtain safety, but instead you helped them to destroy the liberty you once hailed so proudly and rightfully. But you are no safer today than you were before your government relieved you of your liberties, except now the threat exists from both the terrorist boogie men and from your very own government.
So now, it is up to you to make it stop. It is only you that can change the course of this country back to what it once was. Only if you take action against the distortion of liberty, may the true meaning of your country once again flourish. It is your life, it is your choice, and it is your responsibility. Remember this, dear citizens. Remember this on November the 5th."
Couldn't have put it better myself. Congratulations to Bureaucrash

The British Naturism annual general meeting, which took place last Sunday, 22nd October, produced no surprises.
As usual, the Executive Council - the group which rules BN - succeeded yet again in avoiding all the awkward questions which cloud the future of the organisation.
It was, as many had predicted, business as usual.
Among the comments from those ordinary members who attended the meeting were:
"It was the worst run meeting of any kind I have ever been to"
"I saw the constitution being quoted chapter and verse when the old guard blocked any moves to debate contentious issues, but side stepped when it suited them, that left me feeling very frustrated indeed."
"The whole day has left me quite depressed"
And
"totally shambolic"
More details will follow shortly.
